After Hurricane Ike came through in 2008...a wonderful string of musical-creative-meetings lead to the creative mashup of
Freak-in the Frame
with Ashlei Mayadia, Krystal Austin & Empress Winter, Deon James and John Bullock. We came together to jam and grow!
"Authentic acoustic is as simple as one can get when describing the five-member group Freak-in the Frame and their habit of “freak-in“ a
melody. Sometimes jazzy, sometimes folk-like, sometimes hip hop, funk, reggae and R&B – but always freaky. Their “freaked” melodies are interactive, improvisational jam sessions, full of vocal layers and instinctual call and responsethat often lead to creating new songs or once-in-a-lifetime renditionsthat are unique to the current environment and mood – a true gift toany witness."

Check out an original poem of Mayadia's that got brought to life with Freak-in the Frame!
